Originally from Los Angeles, Jacob Lieberstein has a Bachelor of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, and earned his Master of Music degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, and is currently in pursuit of his Professional Diploma in Orchestral Studies. His teachers include Robert Botti (New York Philharmonic), and David Weiss (Los Angeles Philharmonic-former principal). He currently studies with Lora Schaefer (Chicago Symphony Orchestra).

Jacob performed with Camerata New York, Brooklyn Symphony, Ensemble 212, and served as Principal Oboe of the Tuscia Opera Festival in Viterbo, Italy for two seasons. He is also an associate with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and currently serves as Principal Oboist of the Chicago Summer Opera Company.
