JMG Reeds are made by bassoonist Juliana Mesa-Jaramillo, who is currently a University Fellow and Doctoral Candidate in Bassoon Performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, under the instruction of Pr. Marc Vallon. She was one of the winners of the Irving Shain Piano/Woodwind Duo Competition 2016. As an orchestral musician she was Principal and Second bassoon of the EAFIT Symphony Orchestra and the bassoon instructor of the Medellin Philharmonic Academy. Ms. Mesa-Jaramillo specializes in making reeds for the bassoon as well as teaching the process and perfecting it. She is currently a bassoon instructor at the Community Music Lessons program at UW-Madison.
