Bob Hubbard is the founder and tool designer at Westwind Double Reed. West coast born and bred, Bob trained at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and enjoyed a professional career spanning 40 years, including 26 years with the San Jose Symphony Orchestra. During those years, he also pursued an interest in instrument repair, which led to training in machine tools technology and 5 years working as a machinist in a Tool and Die shop. In 1992, he decided to combine the two disciplines and Westwind was born.
