All Golden Hautbois reeds are entirely handmade by a professional oboist. Our reeds have comfortable, quick response (even in the low notes), full vibrating resonance throughout the reed, stable pitch balanced across the octaves, quick articulation, and a focused, rich tone. These are professional-quality reeds, made available for you in strengths of Soft, Medium, and Medium-Hard.
The Classic reeds are made from hand-selected premium cane subjected to three separate tests for excellence. They are tied on brass tubes with synthetic cork covering, and hand-scraped from start to finish in the American style (sometimes called "long scrape.") Each reed must pass our rigorous tests before we approve it for sale. Our reeds are of the highest calibre, and you can be guaranteed the best experience when playing Golden Hautbois reeds.
