Famed sword maker Kuo Chang-Hsi (郭常喜) is perhaps best known for forging the Green Destiny Sword for the 2000 movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. But it is this 3rd generation sword makers use of actual human bones in the forging process that turned heads long before the movie. There is an historical precedence for this, too, which can be seen in the National Geographic clip below. We are priveledged to be able to bring to you some of his fine, custom cutlery, which is made in the same exacting manner of his swords. Each carbon steel "spirit blade" is forged with the added bones, giving each blade a true soul. The steel is damascus patterned between Rockwell 58-60, and handles are custom made to order.
